 #my heart hurts when i think of how much this fandom hates matt for no reason #i’m sorry that he was shoved into a world he was not prepared for #i’m sorry that you don’t think he deserves the same buffer time as everyone else to come to terms with the fact that not only do bad things exist and happen to good people like his sister (because despite vicki’s behavior she is still inherently a good person who cares about people) but ALSO that he was systematically lied to and betrayed by every single person in his life - think about it: his mother abandoned him and he has issues because of that; his best friend since childhood elena has been covering up for two vampires one of which is responsible for his sisters death; and his girlfriend the one he opened his heart to and sought after and went to all of these lengths and through all of these ups and downs because he loves her and thoguht she was worth it (and she is!) has not only been lying to him but has hurt him and taken away his right to have any reaction to it SHE ABUSED HIM AND TOOK AWAY HIS RIGHT TO BE ANGRY caroline did EXACTLY what damon did to her to someone else only this time she abused the natural trust of a relationship to make a decision for someone else whereas damon simply did it because he could #I DON’T KNOW WHICH IS WORSE #stanning caroline forbes yes but i also stan this boy because this boy has done nothing wrong and quite a lot of good
